Creature #01: SCARON
Creature #01: SCARON

Scarons are insectoid creatures of about 2 meters in height when fully grown, they are common in the areas around the Northern Forests of the ancient Kingdom of Antofor.
They are formidable creatures, with a reinforced keratin exoskeleton capable of resisting a crossbow shot, barely leaving a small scratch as a souvenir, of course there will be no second chance for the shooter, because despite not being a predator, it is a very effective killer.
Scarons are solitary creatures, wandering the edges of the forest with the slowness and tranquility that their size gives them, looking for roots, grass and insects to eat.
Scarons are almost indestructible, yet they have vulnerable zones. And although you would think it would be the eyes, there have been cases where an arrow in the eye has not brought them down.
Its main weakness lies in the inter-plate folds that allow the mobility of this walking tank. These folds are made of soft and flexible tissue but of considerable thickness, especially on the neck. Scarons possess two large blades on the sides of the head, although smaller in males. These blades are mainly used to cut down trees and remove soil in search of insects, roots and small animals. They are also used defensively and offensively in territorial disputes.
In males, during the mating period, the blades become brightly colored, contrasting with the scarlet green of the blood of their rivals.
Scarons are insectoids, and reproduce by eggs, usually 2 or hopefully 3, of which most likely only one will hatch, if it survives the egg thieves, and in the rare case that more than one hatches, the larger hatchling will try to kill the weaker one, demonstrating from birth its high territoriality and aggressiveness.
If an adult Scaron sees a harmless creature, it will simply ignore it, however if it notices a predator or a hunter, the Scaron will attack it with a murderous fury and a fast initial acceleration, unexpected for a creature of that size, but explained by its 6 limbs.
